The downstairs family room/ apartment worked really well for our purposes (3 adults and a child), with two single beds and a bunkbed. Also has a kitchen. Bit funny that it doesn't seem to be possible to lock the room from the outside, the entrance to the apartment is straight down a staircase from the main dining area, and the door only seems to have a latch on the inside. Not a problem since we didn't go out, but I could see a diner going down there thinking they might be looking for the bathroom.

Traditional country pub with exceptionally friendly and welcoming staff. Although some of the decor in the bar was dated, everywhere was clean and tidy. The bedroom was newly decorated, beds were very comfortable and we even had a little kitchen in our family room. The food was very good, very reasonably priced home made pub grub for dinner and tasty cooked breakfast. Perfect location for our overnight stop on the C2C walk.

Ruth

Lovely village pub excellent food beds very comfy the family room was just off the dining area so easy to keep an eye on our 3 and 5 year old grandchildren while we had a few drinks and played cards domino's etc ....The staff went over and aboard for us 6 adults and 2 children oh and our little dog loved all the fuss she received......Would highly recommend

Smith

Had dinner there, very well cooked good portions and good value for money. Breakfast in the morning was also well organized, just book time and all ready shortly after going down in the morning. Speaking to the other guests seems very popular with hikers on long walks. Parking around back for motorcycle was handy and tucked out of the way so felt safe.

Eric

The staff were absolutely fantastic they bent over backwards to make us welcome and make sure we had everything we needed, the food was outstanding all homemade and really good portion sizes. It’s set in stunning scenery, such a great little find. Can’t wait to return.
